What a great tournament we had in Daytona!!
Congratulations to our 13U GOLD team who won the whole Championship !!! You really played some great baseball over the weekend, and its good to see so many of you shine. We had good hitting, pitching and solid defense thoughout the whole tournament, and that ultimately was why we won... we were the best team out there !!
Gold's games went as follows - Win against Team Worth 10-5, Win against Jacksonville Blue Claws 19-8. Win against the Jacksonville Blue claws (again) 11-8 in the semi finals and our Win in the finals against the Jacksonville Warriorss (cardinal) 9-3 to take the Championship
13U BLACK also played well, and showed great potential. We had some great hits, which I was pleased to see and we also had some strong pitching. I think we still need to do some work defensively, as this is where we are being overrun, but we are a developmental team, and I will be working with you guys to improve on these skills... Its all about getting better and playing games like this is a great time to showcase what you are doing well in and what areas need improvement.... Great job guys, I saw some great hits out there.
Black's games went as follows - Lost against Jacksonville Warriors (cardinals) 12-2 (the score does not reflect how the Black played in this game, it was pretty much tied up all the way to the 9th), Lost against Top prospects 7-4 and Lost against Blue Claws 10-0
10U.... Take heart all you 10U players, we are a young team and as we develop we will get better and stronger. Our perserverence will pay off and you are gaining expereince with every game you play!!
10U Lost their 3 games this weekend against the MBA Pride 13-3, North Florida Hurricanes 12-0 and Oviedo Outlaws 10-0. Again, we need defensive work, although I do see a lot of improvement from some you guys especially in the swings I saw
Our next tournament will be for ALL 4 teams and will be the USSSA Championships right here in Brevard. I have heard its going to be in Palm Bay, and as soon as the tournament directors let me know the location for sure, I will pass it along.
See you all in the week,
Keith
